This past week I had the privilege of being able to attend the Ann Taylor Holiday Preview put on by the amazing ASC PR team here in Toronto in the beautiful Storys Building. Not only did we get to see the upcoming Holiday 2012 Collection but they also had amazing gift ideas for all those stylish women on your list well worth braving the horrible rainstorm to get there. Here are some images from the event:
It was such a wonderful event and all I can say is there are many women eagerly awaiting the opening of the first Canadian Ann Taylor location in the Eaton Centre this coming fall so they can start getting their hands on all the amazing goodies. This amazing event and the special gift from Ann Taylor that night just helped whet our appetites.
Recently Rag & Bone announced they would be showing at London Fashion Week. Not long after this announcement they released images from their first print campaign for Fall 2012 featuring none other than the fabulous Kate Moss. This campaign shot by Craig McDean has more of a street style feel reminiscent of Kate’s own personal style rather than an editorial feel. I have to say I love it and it seems fitting with the London Fashion Week show coming up, as well there is talks that there will soon be a Rag & Bone flagship opening up in London. One can only hope Canada will eventually get one too.
I got to work with one of my fave models recently, Renee Thompson who is not only stunning but also full of amazing energy on the set. I also finally got to work with Renata Kaveh, who is an incredible photographer. Here is the final result for Kenton Magazine.
Renee also took some behind the scenes for her Reel2Runway project. I will post the behind the scenes soon.
One of my all time fave movies about the 70′s is Dazed & Confused and recently it seems to be gaining popularity again. I have been finding amazing wardrobe inspiration from it. Here is some pieces to get you started:
Recently I got to work with an amazing up and coming photographer, Glensius Calixte and one of my fave makeup artists, Bree Powell. The shoot ended up in Institute magazine. Here is the final story: Viva
The other day I was touring around Dannijo‘s website and I was going through their press section when I saw the most exciting thing, Dannijo is launching a shoe collection. How did I miss this? I am so excited to see it when it launches this fall. Until then, here is the WWD article I scooped off of Dannijo’s site, as I just had to share this exciting news.
It has been confirmed, the next designer collaboration for H&M will be Maison Martin Margiela. The collection will launch in stores November 15th. Let’s see if it will be as conceptual as Marni’s collaboration. I am hoping they will still use the quality materials like we have been seeing in collections past. Stay tuned for images when they are released…
Rumor has it that the next H&M designer collaboration is going to be Maison Martin Margiela according to WWD, not Tom Ford as was originally being talked about before the Marni launch this past spring. Could this be
another successful collaboration like Marni or more of a miss like Comme Des Garcon amongst the fashion community. I am definitely interested to see what will be the result if the rumors are true as I am a huge fan of Maison Martin Margiela as well as MM6. Right now according to the twitterverse it is definitely mixed reviews though. If this is the case expect to see the collection as an off-holiday launch. What are your thoughts?
Designer and retailer collaborations are definitely some of my favourite fashion treats as of late. I love the special pieces made and the support the designers are getting from the mass retailers. The capsule collections at J Crew featuring the winners and runners up of the Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund is one of my favourites. Unfortunately for all the Canadians, we have to buy online as the J Crew stores in Canada aren’t carrying the pieces, but I say they are worth the shipping cost. My favourite collaboration out of the three is Pamela Love who was one of the runner’s up this year. The amazing jewelry designer has delved into clothing and the pieces are AMAZING! Here are the three designs she came up with and I am definitely a fan.

Every website and blog are talking about the best dressed or the worst dressed at this years Met Gala. I always find it interesting that no one puts together a list of the most memorable looks. These are the ones that will be remembered for years to come and referenced. So here is my list of the most memorable looks. Some may be good, some may be bad but the one thing in common is they will never be forgotten.
